If your website is relatively new, always try to stay away from keywords that have high competition.

    The ideal choice should always be keywords with low competition but more search volume. However, most of the keywords with a high search volume usually have high competition too. So, you will have to dig deeper to land on a keyword with high search volume but less completion.

    Most SEO keyword research tools usually rank keywords using a parameter called SEO Keyword difficulty (KD). A keyword with a low KD percentage usually gives you more chances of ranking on the first page than one with a high KD percentage. For the best results, always go for keywords with a KD% that is below 50%.
